Benefits of Dog Daycare
- Daycare can help curb negative behaviors. If your dog gets anxious when alone, you might be used to coming home to destroyed furniture, scratches in the hardwood, or holes in the yard. At dog daycare your dog can channel this extra energy into healthy, positive activities that leave them mentally rejuvenated without the chance to miss you too much.
- Dogs need exercise to stay healthy. These days, it’s hard for pet parents to set aside the appropriate amount of time to exercise their dogs. One or two walks a day is unfortunately not enough for many breeds. At our dog daycare, your dog will enjoy multiple extended play sessions outdoors and indoors with tons of space to run, spend energy, and stay physically fit.
- Socialization is key for happy dogs. Dogs are social by nature, but they don’t automatically know the right way to interact with other dogs (and humans). Daycare offers a supervised, safe environment for dogs to meet other dogs, make friends, and learn the social skills that will ultimately boost their confidence and understanding of the world.
- Daycare is a safe place to play. Our dog daycare program was designed with the safety of your furry friend in mind, from secure fencing to advanced climate-control systems.
- Playgroups are carefully chosen by size and temperament, with groups kept small for the safest play. All members of our daycare staff are thoroughly trained in safe off-leash practices and canine body language.
- A tired, happy dog is the best kind of dog to cuddle and love after your busy day!

Dog Daycare FAQ
Why should I choose Best In Show Daycare?
At Best In Show, our mission is to provide your dog with a safe and healthy play environment to enrich his or her spirit, increase social skills, offer an off-leash area to exercise their body, and give hours of play to stimulate their mind. Supervised by knowledgeable and caring daycare staff, Best In Show’s dog daycare offers an educational alternative with exercise, socialization, and opportunities to learn new skills while interacting with other dogs.
Do you require a Meet N Greet?
All daycare dogs are asked to first join us for a meet and greet, where we can observe them at play and help determine the best play options or social play groups for them.
What is required on their first daycare meet and greet??
For the safety of all guests, daycare dogs must be current on their vaccines: rabies, distemper/parvo, and Bordetella.
How old can a puppy be in order to start daycare and what vaccines are required for puppies?
According to the American Veterinary Medical Association, the most important time for puppy socialization is the first three months of life. Puppies should receive a minimum of one set of vaccines at least 7 days prior to the first visit to our facility.
Puppy vaccinations prior to their first visit include: First booster of distemper/parvo and Bordetella. Puppies should receive their rabies vaccination at approx. 16 weeks of age.
What will my dog’s meet and greet be like?
Observing your pup’s body language is an important part of their daycare meet and greet. Your pup’s use of posture, facial expressions, and other cues will give us an understanding of what sort of play environment they enjoy. As they are introduced to different pups and the daycare staff, we assess if they are relaxed, having fun, and showing appropriate play behavior. For dogs more socially inclined, they are gradually introduced to our daycare pack. For those dogs who enjoy more exclusive play time they are invited to enjoy one-on-one play with a caregiver. Once your pup has completed their meet and greet, they are welcome to join us the rest of the day until you are ready to pick them up.
What should I expect on my dog’s first day?
On the first day, please bring your dog no later than 9:00 or 9:30am. This way, your pup can have ample time to explore the room and get comfortable in their new surroundings. Once your pup is comfortable, we slowly introduce each member of our regular daycare group for that particular day. Once everyone has gotten “sniffed” over, we start playing. After this first day, you are welcome to bring your dog anytime in the morning. Pick-up time is any time before 7pm. Your dog has access to fresh water all day long, but sometimes on the first day or two, they don’t drink the normal amount due to all the new excitement. They may come home extra thirsty… please don’t be alarmed as this is quite normal. As your pup gets comfortable and settled in at daycare, they drink will their normal amount.
How many days should my dog attend daycare?
We suggest a one day a week minimum commitment. At Best In Show, we provide the best environment for your dog to socialize and feel safe. Our playful environment is a result of dogs getting to know each other during repeated visits. We want our daycare dogs to be as comfortable and happy as possible and do this by encouraging parents to bring their pups on assigned days. With this structure in place, dogs play with familiar dogs from week to week vs. having to continually meet new and unfamiliar dogs every day. This is no different from the increased comfort level you feel once you become more familiar with new friends. Can’t commit to a day? No problem, your dog will still see familiar faces as many of his or her friends come on multiple days throughout the week.
What does a typical day of daycare look like?
Our daycare dogs’ day consists of supervised play with safe, durable toys, running around with friends and playing. Mid-day, we encourage the dogs to nap. After napping, they play until pick-up time.
Can I add additional services and activities to my dog’s day of daycare?
Absolutely! Best In Show offers full service premium grooming and bathing service as well as full-service grooming. We also have additional treats and activities, such as individual play times, available for your pup.
